Columbus Park Trellis Lighting

Mayor Martin J. Walsh, Boston Parks Commissioner Chris Cook, the Friends of Christopher Columbus Park, and the Boston Parks and Recreation Department will host the 12th annual lighting of the park’s signature trellises. Christopher Columbus Park will be transformed into a holiday wonderland when the park’s 260 feet of trellis are set aglow with 50,000 blue lights along with decorated trees near Tia’s, the Marriott Long Wharf Hotel, and throughout the park. Entertainment provided by the North End Music and Performing Arts Center Children’s Choir. Boston Common Tree Lighting

Join Mayor Martin J. Walsh and the Honourable Stephen McNeil, Premier of Nova Scotia, for Boston’s 73rd Annual Official Tree Lighting featuring holiday decorations throughout Boston Common and the Public Garden including the City of Boston’s official Christmas tree, a 43-foot white spruce donated by John and Ethel Ann MacPherson of Nova Scotia. WCVB TV’s Anthony Everett and JC Monahan will host Channel 5’s live broadcast of the event beginning at 7 p.m. featuring Nashville’s Chaley Rose, The Voice contestant Brittany Butler, the New England Patriots Cheerleaders, Nova Scotia band The Stanfields, the Floorlords dance troupe, and a headliner and additional acts to be announced. The holiday lights throughout both parks will light up in sequence shortly before 8 p.m. when Mayor Walsh is joined onstage by Premier McNeil, members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and Santa Claus.
